I’m always looking for healthier meal options and was recently introduced to Deliteful Meals. They are microwaveable, seafood meals that keep your calories in check.
Each package contains 2 meals inside, each being “individually wrapped”. I was able to enjoy the Salmon while my husband chowed down on the Shrimp. They retail for about $5.48. Each meal is 250 calories or less and contain no preservatives. They need to be microwaved anywhere from 4-6 minutes, depending on the variety.

I started with the Salmon Florentine Alfredo. This is Salmon, whole wheat rotini pasta, green peas, red peppers, and spinach in a creamy lemon alfredo sauce. This had 16 grams of protein, 210 calories, and is 100% natural with no preservatives. All of this is clearly marked on the package. I LOVE that you can see the protein and calorie count on the front. Actually, I love everything about the package. The cook time, nutrition, and a nice big photo of what’s inside is clearly visible.

I’ve repeated said how I’m wary of any whole wheat pasta for fear of it tasting like cardboard but I was pleasantly surprised. This meal did NOT have that taste. In fact, it was REALLY good. It was my favorite meal out of all the ones I tried. I loved how fresh the peas and red peppers tasted and the sauce was just right. I’m pretty particular about salmon since it’s something that I order often when eating out. I found it to taste fresh also and with a little lemon pepper, I was in heaven. Finally a healthy meal that was NOT a salad or sandwich. I thought the serving size was just right and with all the protein, I was full quickly and for a long time.

My husband loved the Shrimp Bowtie Scampi. It was a little spicy, which he loved. He said you could taste the flavors in each bite. We had to cook this one a little longer so that the shrimp was cooked all the way through but we also have a horrible microwave that needs updating so that could have had something to do with it. He gave it two thumbs up and by far his favorite. I don’t like shrimp so I didn’t taste it. I’ll take his word for it.
Our second favorite was the Tilapia Mango Tango. VERY good! Other varieties include the Cod Mediterranean Medly and Swai Caribbean BBQ. We thought the last two were okay…I think that you have a palette for those flavors, you’ll definitely like them more. We are just very plain folks so our taste buds were being a bit resistant.
Overall, I’d recommend them. I think the nutrition, taste, and serving size are the best part of them. I do think that you will need to cook them longer than the package says but for the fresh flavors and healthier ingredients, it’s all worth it.
Disclosure: Compensation has been provided by Walmart for my time and efforts to create this post. All opinions are my own, always have been, always will be. It was really nice know that there are healthy alternatives besides salads and subs to help me on my weight loss journey!

My husband and I tried the Swai Carribean BBQ earlier this week and the Salmon Florentine Alfredo tonight. Although neither of us expected a very flavorful, filling meal since it is for weight-conscious consumers, my husband couldn’t manage to get past the first couple of bites. In fact, we were both extremely disappointed in the swai meal. The spicy sauce was overpowering, but the rest of the meal was quite bland. I couldn’t find any pineapple chunks, much last taste them. The potatoes had good texture but absolutely no flavor.
The salmon meal was considerably better, which isn’t saying much. Even so, my husband fed his serving to the dogs. It’s certainly not something that we’ll ever bring home from the grocery store again.
My husband and I love the Tilapia Mango/Tango. My husband is very picky but he absolutely loves this one. I cna not find it any longer in Wal-Mart. Where can I buy it now?
