Sanus VuePoint Full-Motion TV Wall Mount {Giveaway}

By A Cowboy's Wife | June 24, 2013

Safety is probably one of the last things people think about when buying a TV wall mount.  Most of want one for ‘looks’.  But I’m talking about kids getting hurt and even getting killed buy an unsecured TV-one that tips over on them.  I have actually read a story on a blog about this happening to her son and him dying.  I cannot even imagine the heartache of something like that.  To know that it’s something that could easily have been prevented….

sanus tv mount

I’m giving away a Sanus Vuepoint, Full-Motion TV mount and educating you on why it’s important to buy a good one.  Did you know:

  • A child is killed every three weeks from an unsecured TV
  • Every 45 minutes a child visits an emergency room due to a TV tip-over related injury
  • Between 2000 and 2011, 215 fatalities have resulted from TV tip-over
  • An estimated 17,000 people each year, the majority of which are children, are treated for injuries from TV tip-overs

That is crazy y’all!  We have a heavy 54″ Flat panel plasma TV and if that thing fell on Truett, there’s no way he’d be able to move it.  He’d be stuck and hurt badly.   Sanus has partnered with SafeKids.org and offers a safe solution.   The Sanus Vuepoint Tv Mount is a 1,2,3 installation process and will ease your mind knowing it’s secured on the wall.  It’s a full-motion mount that will also allow you to swivel the TV in various directions.

WIN YOUR OWN SANUS TV MOUNT!

How to Enter:

Simply leave a comment telling me what safety precautions you take in your home to protect your kids.  (you may do this daily, leaving a different tip/precaution each time).

As always, it’s not mandatory or anything but I’d love for you to share this giveaway via social networks like twitter and facebook.  I can’t hold any of these giveaways without generous sponsors and they need to know we appreciate them.  You can find Sanus on twitter and facebook.

Giveaway ends on July 1st, at about 10pm CST.  Winner will need to provide me with the size of their TV in addition to their name and shipping address. Disclosure: Sanus provided me with a TV mount in return for my time & efforts to create this post and give one of you the chance to win one of your own.  All opinions are my own.

    When the kids were really smal we found boy #2 climbing a shakey wall unit and grabbed him just in time. So nyloin strapes and screws in to the wall with mollys on the inside were the project of that day.
    Thanks for the posting.

    I secure furniture to the walls with L-brackets. It’s not expensive and can usually be disguised or painted to match the wall. It’s so scary how easily furniture can be tipped over by a small child climbing up on it. It’s great to make everyone aware of this very deadly threat to our children. Thank you!

    My nephew had a TV/entertainment center fall on him when he was little and he broke both legs. it was awful. I know all about securing a TV and a cabinet! My kids are older now, but I was always big on have safety caps in the outlets and latches on the cabinets. In fact, they are still there!! And my baby is 16 now!
