I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for American Express Serve. I applied for the Serve Cash Back card to facilitate my review and received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I recently shared with you, all the useful and awesome features of the American Express Serve Cash Back card. After a couple of weeks of using the card myself, I wanted to follow up with y’all and share some of my thoughts on the prepaid debit card.
We attended the State Fair of Texas in early October and that is where I first used the American Express Serve Cash Back card. I had a backup card just in case I had any issues because to be honest, it’s the fair and I just wasn’t sure I’d be able to use it everywhere I needed to. I don’t know about the fair in your state, but here in Texas, you have to buy coupon tickets for EVERYTHING! Well, almost everything. You need tickets to ride the rides and buy food & drinks. I have never seen that before. If you want to play games, you have to buy a game card. This was all very new to me so needless to say, I was visiting the ticket & game booths more often than I had liked. The great thing, though? My American Express Serve Cash back card was taken at both of the booths! I had ZERO issues using my card at the fair. I also loved that I could check my balance as much I wanted to with the app on my phone. I had kinda lost track of the visits to the booths and how much I was spending so it was nice to log in and check that quickly and get an immediate available balance. Through the entire weekend we were at Ft.Worth/Dallas area, I used my prepaid debit card to secure the hotel, purchase gas & meals, and for all the entertainment at the fair.
One of the nice things about this prepaid debit card, is that it’s prepaid. That means, if I put $xx amount of money on the card, I can’t overspend it. This came in handy while at the fair. I didn’t have to worry about the budget because the card was preloaded with my budget. Once it was gone, I knew it was time for us to be done. This is another reason why having a sub-account for your college kid (over 18), is a such a nice feature. Say he had wanted to browse the mall on their own or with their friends while on our stay in the metroplex. I could have easily loaded the card with a set amount of money for him to spend. This would keep him from overspending but with the app, allows him to monitor what he’s spending, keeping him in check financially. All this as we earn 1% cash back for every dollar we spend when we shop in store and online. Helllllooo, we are earning for spending. Every cent adds up y’all and I love seeing what I’m earning! It’s like throwing your change into the piggy bank but without the work.
I encourage you to read my previous post on the American Express Serve Cash Back card for ALL the features of the prepaid debit card, and then sign up for your very own account. It was so nice to use a card with confidence. There were no worries about where it could be used and in the back of my mind, I was thankful to know that the card also offers roadside assistance and if we were to break down on the road during the trip, we would be okay! There are just so many benefits and it’s a card worth having in your wallet.
Again,I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for American Express Serve. I received a test card to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. Opinions are my own, as always. It’s just how I roll. I encourage you to sign up for your own American Express Serve prepaid debit card!
