Peach Cobbler Using Cake Mix Wrapped in Temp-Tations

By A Cowboy's Wife | December 12, 2013

Peach cobbler, pumpkin pie, fudgy brownies, all weaknesses of mine y’all.  With Christmas around the corner, there will be potlucks at church, get-togethers at friends, and Christmas dinner with family.  This year, I’ll be bringing my dessert all gussied up in Temp-tations.!

Temp-tations

My mom is a big fan of Temp-tations so I was introduced to the ovenware early. If you’re not familiar with them, let me give you an overview of the product.  Temp-tations is handcrafted, all-temperature safe, and ready to prep, bake, and serve in.  The designs are just lovely and there’s something to suit everyone’s taste.

temptations

In the above photo, you’ll notice the sweet Floral Lace Temp-tations baking set.  There are six pieces to this set; pie plate, wire rack (not shown), and 4 individual mini pie dishes.  Just by holding and looking at the ovenware, you’ll instantly recognize its quality.  I have already used this set numerous times and it’s what I’ll be taking to our friend’s New Year’s party.  These are dishwasher safe, microwave safe, freezer safe, and oven safe to 500′

As always, I encourage you to visit the sponsor via their website, twitter, and facebook. And if you’re feeling generous, any social sharing is appreciated.

Now for the cobbler. You can actually find this cobbler in Apple on my blog but I’ll share the super simple recipe here too.

What would I bake in one of these cute dishes? My holiday breakfast casserole! It’s yummy, but would look soo much cuter in a nice dish instead of the plain PYREX I use now. Recipe: fry up 1 pound of sausage or ground ham. While this cooks, chop up 1/2 red bell pepper, 1/2 green bell pepper, and 1/2 onion. Toss into pan to cook with meat. When meat is done, drain any excess fat from pan. Tear up 6-7 slices of break and layer in the bottom of a greased 11×13 inch baking dish. Spread the meat mixture over the bread. Mix up 7-8 eggs with 3/4 cup milk, salt and pepper to taste. Pour egg mixture over meat. Cover with foil and store in fridge overnight. (you don’t really have to do this, but it’s so nice to just pop it in the oven in the morning!) Next morning, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 25-30 min, covered. Remove foil, sprinkle with enough cheese to cover top of casserole and back for another 10 minutes to mealth cheese and make sure casserole is set. My family loves this, and if my guests hear I have fixed this for the morning after a party they stay all night just to get some! I think it’s best with ham, and sometimes use the chopped ham they sell at the grocery store.
