Today, I have been married to my cowboy for 25 years. If you don’t know the story of us, you should totally read it. It’s a crazy story. We have celebrated our anniversary lots of different ways over the years. This year, I partnered up with WinStar World Casino and Resort and we were super excited to spend our 25th with them!
I’ve heard of WinStar from a lot of folks but when we arrived, I never imagined it was gonna be as big as it was! Oh my cow, y’all, I felt like I was in Vegas, on WinStar is better because everything is all in one place! You seriously need a week to experience all of it!
We arrived at the hotel, checked in, and took a minute to go over the map. Trust me, you need to give the map a minute of your time! While I made a game plan, my cowboy enjoyed the view from the 16th floor. When you can get the cowboy away from the ranch, he truly takes the time to enjoy even the smallest things. I love that about him.
We were starving so we headed down to eat before my spa appointment. There are a TON of places to eat within WinStar. We picked one of the first places we came to as you walk into the casino, Chip ‘N Ales. Great food! LOVED their fries and my friend, Shelby, said their fish was very good! I forgot to mention that! Our best friends joined us because the more the merrier, right?!
We walked a bit and then me and Shelby headed to the spa! I highly recommend that you make a reservation ahead of time because while we sat in there waiting for our appointment, we saw several hoping to get in, but they were fully booked! The spa was amazing! While you wait, you get a heated pad for your neck, along with a beverage of choice. It’s peaceful and I felt so pampered. It’s a rare treat for me so I soaked up every second! I got a 50-minute massage and talk about heavenly! I thought 50 minutes was plenty long but I actually think I could have done the longer one, which was surprising to me because I have a very hard time relaxing. I could have stayed there all day. The massage therapist applied the right amount of pressure that I asked for and gave extra attention to some of the areas I mentioned. I can’t recommend enough.
The fellas embraced happy hour at Toby Keith’s bar. Need I say more? lol I hear they have some awesome cheese fries but like I said, we had dinner plans and we just couldn’t fit everything into the short time we were there. I will definitely try them next time we go because ‘I love this bar’. teehee See what I did there?
By the time we were done, it was time to shower and get ready for dinner. We were thrilled to have our 25th-anniversary dinner at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse. Oh my y’all….there are so many choices but no matter what you choose, it’s gonna be delicious! The steaks were mouth-watering and you could slice through them like buttah! They were cooked absolutely perfect. My only regret is that I ordered the 7oz. I totally should have ordered the 10oz filet mignon and probably could have eaten a 15oz, it was so good. HAHA! I really appreciate the extra mile they went with our dessert, that was on the house, for our anniversary. They didn’t have to do that but it really gave us those fuzzy feelings of thankfulness and appreciation, not only for their kind gesture but for one another.
We spent the rest of the evening in the casino and WOW! It took us forever to get halfway because there are so many fun gaming machines to play on! Everything from Lucky Ducky to Moneybags to Willy Wonka to computerized Roulette!! WHAT! We had never seen that before! If computerized isn’t your thang, don’t stress. They had roulette tables, along with the other card game tables. SOOOOO much to do. Don’t get so memorized by the lights on the gaming machines that you miss out on the beauty throughout WinStar. I really loved the art and it was actually a great way to mark spots, whether that was to find one another or remember where a favorite machine was.
Something else I greatly appreciated, was the convenient locations of restrooms and self-serving stations! I never had a problem finding a bathroom or a spot to grab some coffee, water, or soda! Thank you!!!!
WinStar hosts some amazing events in their mighty Global Event Center. You’ll see everything from MMA to ZZTop to comedians like Jerry Seinfeld & Bill Maher. Amazing entertainers y’all! This will be on our to-do list next time we go!
Here are my TOP 5 TIPS for your next visit to the WinStar World Casino!
- Wear comfortable shoes (and a fitbit)! What a great way to burn some calories, walking from machine to machine. HAHA!! I ended up walking 6 miles the day we arrived. GO ME!
- DO treat yourself to a dinner at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse. The ‘sides’ are very large portions so I recommend picking 2 or 3 and sharing. Dessert? You MUST try the half bake. *drool*
- If you like to drink beer, take advantage of Toby Keith’s bar during happy hour. It will save you a few bucks! I believe it was less than $12 bucks for 2 huge mugs, which equaled 4 beers.
- Take a little time to prepare; make reservations, buy tickets, etc. Also, familiarize yourself with WinStar-Map and take advantage of their website. You can find a calendar of events, menus, and more!
- Finally, aside from whatever money you take to gamble if you want to stay on some sort of a budget, I highly recommend you get a WinStar World Casino gift card. You’ll be able to use this gift card throughout the whole property and it’s a great way to put $xx amount of money on it and stick to just spending that. It’s easy to spend when they have so much swag to buy!
I can’t thank WinStar enough for hosting us and providing such an amazing, fun-filled visit! I wish we could have stayed longer because there’s so much we didn’t get to do. I guess that means another visit is in store!
Me and my cowboy thank you!

We love Chips ‘N Ales! We live about 40 minutes away from the casino, so I might have to talk Hubby into taking me there soon.
