My son loves to help in the kitchen. Every cooking tool I own is mostly meant for my hands and not a kid’s hands. Having raised three kids over the past 20 years, I would highly recommend them having their own cooking tools so I wanted to share some of our favorite kids cooking tools.
COOKING TOOLS FOR KIDS WHO BAKE
Do you have kids that love to bake? Below is a list of baking tools for kids. Truett hasn’t attempted baking yet but if your kiddos have, I’d love to hear what they started baking first.
- Junior Cooking and Baking Set (11 pieces!)
- Kids Oven Mitts and Apron
- Measuring cups and prep bowls (17 pieces)
COOKING TOOLS FOR KIDS WHO LOVE CHOPPED JUNIOR and MASTER CHEF
We love to watch Chopped, Chopped Junior, MasterChef, and Kids Baking Championship. What are some of your kid’s favorites cooking shows? The nylon kid knives suggestion is a great way to break in your kiddos and their chopping skills. They are much safer than giving them a regular knife.
- Kids Knives (Nylon)
- MasterChef Cooking Set
OTHER ESSENTIAL COOKING TOOLS FOR KIDS
- Kids Cookbooks (so many fun ones!)
- Curious Chef Caddy Collection (THIS IS AWESOME!)
- Cooking Timer
I think it’s important to teach our children, if anything, basic cooking skills. If we use some of these kids cooking tools to get them started, it makes it easier for them, in my opinion, to transition to more grown up cooking tools. You can always use the cooking tools you have in your kitchen but if kids are anything like myself (and I think they are), then they’ll want their own set! It just makes it more fun!
Do your kids love to cook and have their own cooking tools? We’d love to hear if they have a favorite recipe too! We’re always looking for some new ones to try and some that are easy enough for Truett, who enjoys cooking for fun.

We have that Junior Cooking and Baking set and started using them as our main ones when we moved and couldn’t find ours in the sea of boxes. They really are well made! I’d love to get those kids knives, those are adorable!
