Time savers and convenience go hand in hand these days don’t they?  Dreyer’s ice cream has made things a little easier for you with their  Edy’s Shakes & Smoothies in a cup.  All you need is a 1/3 cup of milk and a spoon to stir!  You should know that this product is exclusive to Walmart.

This is a great fix and alternative to dragging out the blender to make a shake.  I found the portion size absolutely perfect and the whole a process a breeze.

Peel off foil and have your 1/3 cup of milk ready.

Pour milk in and stir…

The best part of all, is there’s really no cleanup. Toss and wash your spoon and viola!  The shakes come in Chocolate, Vanilla, and Cookies-n-Cream and the smoothies come in Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, and Tropical.  YUM!!

    I perfer shakes!! My daughter is allergic to chocolate so she perfers smoothies since you won’t usually find chocolate hidden in those! :)

    These just might come in handy!! Grandkids still make special trips to my Mom’s house just to get her to make them milkshakes… and they are 15, 14 & 12 years old!! LOL. Now maybe they can make their OWN!! heehee. It would have been nice if Dryer’s would have printed a line inside the cup showing a 1/3 cup milk measurement. That way you wouldn’t have to use a separate measuring cup for the milk.

    Depends on my mood. :) Shakes, definitely, if I am in the mood for something sweet and indulging (peanut butter shakes are my fave!). Smoothies if I am in the mood for something fruity and healthy, especially for breakfast.

    I prefer shakes, but I’m trying to be more virtuous in the New Year, so I’d probably buy the smoothies more often. The calorie count is probably similar, but at least the smoothies have fruit! :)

    We drink a lot of smoothies at my house. I make a lot of fruit smoothies with honey. They are yummy. :)

    Shakes versus Smoothies? Is that even a question? Growing up the in land of Frozen Custard (Milwaukee), there is no way that I would choose a smoothie (of any kind) over the delicious richness of heavy cream. There’s no two ways around it, shakes are heavier, thicker, and the taste lasts longer as it melts slowly on your tongue! The Smoothie is a pitiful and weak treat in comparison to its older and more mature cousin, the Shake. The Shake knows better, has more to offer, is complex in so many more ways than the Smoothie. Poor Smoothie, while you may never reach the gastronomic status of the Shake, I will still respect you and your seemingly good intentions of being a healthy drink. Love, The Shake Appraiser

    I think I prefer smoothies – although when I make them at home, they are only fruit, maybe veggies, maybe yogurt (light, nonfat) and ice, maybe a bit of juice. All depends on what I have on hand!
